In 2016, my life looked perfect on the surface. I was a physiotherapist in a private clinic, newly married, and my son had just earned a scholarship to a great school. But beneath the surface, I was battling a relentless list of symptoms: rapid weight gain, severe acne, hair loss, mood swings, heart palpitations, anxiety attacks, and crushing brain fog, just to name a few. It was overwhelming. I needed answers.

I avoided social events, terrified of what people might think. My GP dismissed my symptoms as “stress and depression,” but I knew it was more. The breaking point came when I had to run out of a supermarket mid-panic attack over something as simple as whether I was getting the right cereal. The absurdity of it all hit me hard. That was when I decided something had to change.

I wasn’t going crazy, this was a natural phase of life that could be managed. But I was stunned by the lack of awareness and support for women like me. Did you know that one-third of women haven’t even heard of perimenopause until they experience symptoms?

My journey didn’t end with my own transformation. I became a qualified menopause wellbeing practitioner and wrote a bestselling book to share the knowledge I’d gained. But I soon realised the scale of the problem:
1 in 4 women lose or leave their jobs due to a lack of understanding about menopause.
That’s why I’ve dedicated my life to educating women, businesses, and health professionals. Through workshops, online courses, and speaking engagements, I’m breaking the stigma and creating a world where no woman has to suffer in silence.
